Melbourne seems to be a bit shellshocked after the tragic bushfires. Everyone you talk to seems to be touched in some way, my wife Kate works at the CFA headquarters - I've hardly seen her the last 2 weeks and when I do she can't switch off from the fires. I've been playing around with ink washes lately, I'm really enjoying the looseness and random element it gives.

With Melbourne's recent heatwave (and another 43+ degree day tomorrow) we are getting invaded by spiders and ants. Found this little guy this morning and I used all my manly skills to catch him in my trusty spider catching jug. For any spider enthusiasts out there it's a huntsman and they grow to about 15cm across. Crikey.
