Interactive Retail Experiences

At TKM9, I worked on interactive games and digital experiences designed for retail and public environments.

These projects brought together physical spaces, branded content, animation and technology to create experiences people could actively take part in. The aim was to attract attention, make the environment more engaging and give customers a reason to stop, play and interact.

My role covered concept development, visual direction, interface design, animation and the creation of content for interactive installations.

Each project had to work as both a creative idea and a real experience. It needed to be immediately understandable, visually engaging and simple enough for people to use without instructions. It also had to account for the realities of a public environment, including screen formats, viewing distance, short attention spans, available space and the technical requirements of the installation.

I worked with designers, developers, producers and production partners to turn early concepts into finished experiences. This involved developing the look and feel, mapping the user journey, designing game screens and interactions, producing visual assets and adapting the creative as the technical build developed.

The work gave me an early understanding of experience design beyond the screen. It taught me to think about how people move through a space, what catches their attention and how design, content and technology can work together to create participation.
